Ukiyo World redefines luxury handcrafted candles and scent design by creating moments through our senses. 

Born out of a desire to alter mood and atmosphere, Ukiyo World consists of a considered range of six timeless, consciously handcrafted candles inspired by thoughtful use of light and ancient symbols used to protect the home.

A lockdown pastime conceived out of a longing for travel and the reprieve found in nature. Each scent has the power to transport you to another world where dream meets reality.

HAND CRAFTED

Ukiyo World scented candles are hand poured in Melbourne using a blend of natural, renewable and biodegradable soy wax. Made in small batches, we purchase all elements from the most reputable Australian owned and operated suppliers to support our community, retain the utmost quality, and reduce our impact on the environment.

FLOWER OF LIFE

The six-petal rosette that you see across Ukiyo World is the “Flower of Life” - a symbol that has appeared across several cultures for millennia. In ancient times, the flower was used in architecture to protect the home and welcome good fortune. Ukiyo World is created with this same sentiment. Each fragrance is crafted with intention and bears this symbolic flower to serve and protect the space it inhabits.

UKIYO SOUNDS

We bond with scent just as we bond with music. We live with it, we immerse ourselves in it; it floats in the air and becomes part of our lives. Both can make their way into our subconscious minds and stay there like lucid souvenirs of places we once travelled to or people we once knew. Let our scents and sounds transport you. When you burn a candle, especially for the first time, you want to burn it for at least two hours or more until the entire top layer liquefies before you extinguish it so that the whole surface will burn evenly. QUALITY ASSURANCE

All of our fragrance oil is tested to ensure quality, scent throw and consistency. Our candles are created from materials that are vegan, environmentally friendly and natural. Our glass vessels can be reused, refilled or recycled and we use 100% natural fibre cotton wicks. We do not test our formulations or ingredients on animals, and our fragrance adheres to RIFM and IFRA standards for safety and purity.

RESPONSIBLE PACKAGING

Ukiyo World was created with the environment in mind. We strive to use biodegradable, recyclable and reusable packaging whenever possible. The boxes are unprinted so they can be reused and the outer wrap is printed on environmentally responsible, carbon neutral paper that is FSC Recycled certified, using eco-friendly ink. Your double-sided wrap can be framed as art or reused as gift wrap and your glass vessel can be reused in many ways. We responsibly ship all of our candles using the most sustainable options available, including compostable tape and recycled wood shavings from local furniture makers utilised as packing filler. We also work with a 100% carbon neutral shipping partner to further reduce our impact on the environment.
